Multi-factor authentication

Multi-factor authentication

Multi-step authentication helps protect your account by making it more difficult for a hacker to sign in, even if they've somehow learned your password. If you enable multi-step verification, you'll see an extra page every time you sign in to the Client Portal. The extra page prompts you to enter a security code to sign in.

How to enable multi-factor authentication

  1. You must have at least one security identity activated on your account. You can check the current status of identities in Settings/Profile → Authentication Methods in the Client Portal menu.

    • Google Authenticator: Enter the one-time code generated in the Google Authenticator app.
    • Email: Enter the code sent to your email.
    • Backup Code: Enter the backup code you previously generated in the Client Portal.
